Stellaris Tech Tree (New Ships Classes & More). Apocalypse is a paid expansion that was released along with Stellaris v2.0. Stellaris v2.0 expanded the existing tech tree. Consult the Stellaris Wiki or the Stellaris Tech Tree for details. Apocalypse includes a small number of extra techs for long range starbase weapons, planet killers, and titanic ships.
Let's say you have blue lasers in your list. But choose something else.
And come across UV lasers through researching debris. And when you get to choose again you now have blue lasers or UV lasers. When selecting UV lasers, is blue lasers supposed to dissappear since they are inferior in tech?I seem to have a situation where I'm given two choices (plasma for example) and after researching the higher tech, the inferior tech is still available and clogging up the option list. It would be nice to eliminate all options inferior to the highest researched tech if possible. Is there a mod for that?
It's possible that's why it's appearing, but I do know that there are 5 tiers of technology. In order to get spawnings of the next tier, you must research 6 technologies of the previous tier.
So 6 tier 3 techs, to get spawnings of tier 4 techs. I believe this is separate for each category too (physics/society/engineering). Source -.txt document in common/technology (forget which one but yeah). Not sure if that's the case for the blue lasers, and why you aren't getting tier 4 lasers (forget name), but a thought. As people said, some techs are direct upgrades (Red laser-blue lasers), but those are a minority. Most techs have a 'weight system' which heavily affects how like they are to drop. Just colonised a new world? You likely to get a relevant tile blocker removal tech.
Want to get into psionics? The odds of this are next to zero, if you don't have a psionic scientist leading research.
